5th August 2015 – it is exactly 12 months since Tommy’s Footprints was conceived. Since then a lot has happened to turn the idea into a poignant reality:
- Ampthill Town Council has enthusiastically backed Tommy’s Footprints.
- A small working group has done research and is developing the concept.
- We have created a FaceBook page and this blog.
- Tommy’s Footprints was invited to join the IWM First World War Centenary Programme.
- An artist’s impression shows what Tommy’s Footprints will look like.
- Local schools and community groups are starting to get involved.
- We stenciled some ‘test’ footprints in Ampthill Park to see how they look and weather.
