August 1914 – Outbreak of war
October 1914 – Ampthill Camp established
May 1915 – First draft entrain for the Front
September 1915 – The Battle of Loos
April 1916 – German attack at Yser Canal Bank, Ypres
July 1916 – Start of the Battles of the Somme
September 1916 – Major fire at Wrest Park Military Hospital
October 1916 – Bedfordshire Command Depot established
August 1917 – 126th Canadian Forestry Corps arrive in Ampthill
November 1918 – The Armistice
February 1919 – Ampthill Camp to be dismantled and sold
March 1919 – Closure of the Ampthill Camp
